A Sacred Abode of Miracles and Faith

Introduction
Nestled in the ancient heartland of India, amidst the Satpura–Maikal mountain ranges of Madhya Pradesh, lies the revered Chamatkarik Shri Hanuman Mandir at village Sawli. The temple is situated at the holy confluence of the Jam and Sarpa rivers and is famed for the rare, self-manifested (Swayambhu) reclining idol of Lord Hanuman, enshrined under a vast Peepal tree.

This sacred site is not merely a temple—it is a living center of unwavering faith, divine miracles, and timeless legends. Devotees believe that prayers offered here with true devotion are inevitably fulfilled.

Geographical Location & Accessibility

The temple is located approximately 66 km north of Nagpur, on the Nagpur–Chhindwara road, just 1.5 km from Bajaj Jod Chowk. Road connectivity is smooth and well-established, making the shrine easily accessible for pilgrims from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and across India. Rail connectivity is available up to Saunsar, further enhancing accessibility.

Temple Administration & Management

The temple is managed by Chamatkarik Shri Hanuman Mandir Sansthan (Hanuman Lok), Jamsawli, a registered public trust. The trust comprises 32 trustees, with a managing executive committee overseeing daily rituals, pilgrim services, festivals, and development activities. With active support from the Government of Madhya Pradesh, the trust is committed to developing the temple into a well-organized, modern pilgrimage destination while preserving its sacred traditions.

🕉️ Unique History & Miraculous Beliefs

The most extraordinary aspect of the temple is its Swayambhu (self-manifested) idol of Lord Hanuman. There is no historical record of its installation, reinforcing the belief in its divine origin. Revenue records dating back over 100 years mention the presence of Mahavir Hanuman beneath a Peepal tree, affirming the temple’s antiquity.

According to local legend, the idol was originally in a standing posture. When certain individuals attempted to move it, suspecting hidden treasure beneath, the idol miraculously reclined on its own. Despite efforts using dozens of horses and bullocks, it could not be moved further—an event that firmly established the site’s miraculous reputation.

Ramayana-Era Legends

The temple is deeply associated with the Ramayana period. Belief holds that while carrying the Sanjeevani mountain to revive Lakshman, Lord Hanuman briefly rested beneath the Peepal tree at Jamsawli. This legend elevates the site as a sacred halt from the Ramayana era.
